Clear, India’s leading fintech SaaS firm, has roped in Saran Chatterjee, former product leader at GooglePay and Flipkart, as its new Chief Product Officer. In his new role, Saran will spearhead product management, design, and product marketing for Clear.

Saran comes with over two decades of experience in product management, product marketing, product innovation, business management, and operations in India and Silicon Valley. Prior to Clear, Saran was the Director of Product Management at Google, heading the consumer payments and financial services for GooglePay India. He has also worked at Flipkart, Yahoo, and Fujitsu, and co-founded home construction and services startup HouseJoy.

Clear’s popular products include Clear GST, Clear e-Invoicing, Black app and MaxITC. Clear has recently expanded to Saudi Arabia with its e-invoicing product. It also introduced new software for B2B payments and credit like Clear Invoice Discounting.

The company envisions building India’s largest B2B Business Network that connects Clear’s customers with their business partners vendors, customers, distributors, accountants on a single platform. Through this network, Clear will solve for use cases across procurement, invoicing, payments, and collections. It will also build a crypto tax and portfolio management platform for individuals and businesses.

In October last year, Clear raised $75 million in its Series C round led by Kora Capital, alongside global fintech Stripe, Alua Capital, and Think Investments, among others. Global product and engineering veterans including Aparna Chennapragada, Chief Product Officer of American stock trading platform Robinhood, Surojit Chatterjee, Chief Product Officer of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, and Balaji Srinivasan, former Chief Technology Officer of Coinbase are also among its investors.
