Salesforce, a US-based IT company that has experienced significant growth in both business and investments, will maintain its investments and expansion in India due to the country's suitable talent pool, stated Arun Kumar Parameswaran, Executive Vice President and MD (South Asia).

Salesforce commenced its operations in India in 2005, opening its initial centre of excellence in Hyderabad. Currently, the company operates in six locations across India, generating annual revenue of $1 billion and employing more than 13,000 people. India is the second-largest market for the company following the US.

"In 2020, our numbers were approximately 2,500 currently; we have surpassed 13,000 employees, marking a more than five-fold increase. We will persist in investing and expanding in India due to the abundance of skills that are highly sought after by employers," says Arun Kumar.

Salesforce South Asia CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya mentioned that the growth of the US-based IT company Salesforce in India will be propelled by the BFSI, retail, and manufacturing sectors over the upcoming three years.

"The three-year agenda remains more or less the same. We still see a lot of growth coming out of the BFSI sector and the retail sector. We see plenty of growth in manufacturing, travel, tourism, hotels and healthcare. So, many of these sectors are showing pretty steady and good growth," Bhattacharya says.

A few weeks back, Salesforce launched its newest AI agent platform version in an effort to attract businesses to its AI software in a competitive market. The customer relations manager giant introduced a new platform called Agentforce 360 before its upcoming annual Dreamforce customer conference starting on October 14. Agentforce 360 includes updated features for guiding AI agents over text, a new system for creating and launching agents, and enhanced support for messaging app Slack.

Agentforce 360 includes a new AI agent prompting tool known as Agent Script, set to launch in beta during November. This tool enables users to customize their AI agents to handle "if/then" scenarios with greater flexibility.

By using Agent Script, AI agents can be designed to provide more predictable responses in non-structured situations such as customer inquiries. Users have access to models called 'reasoning' models, which are designed to think before providing responses instead of relying on patterns.

These 'reasoning' agents are powered by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini. Salesforce has also revealed that a new tool called Agentforce Builder is being launched.

This tool enables users to create, test, and implement AI agents from one central location. Scheduled for beta release in November, Agentforce Builder comes with Agentforce Vibes, an application vibe coding tool for enterprises that was introduced by Salesforce earlier in the month.
