Samsung is increasing its investments in India’s artificial intelligence sector while maintaining its involvement in the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) programs, according to JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia.

Celebrating thirty years of presence in the country, Park stated that India possesses “immense” long-term potential and is anticipated to become one of Samsung’s top global markets as economic growth and per capita income increase.

Samsung is involved in the Electronics Manufacturing Component Scheme and has sought incentives for display modules. Park attributed the enhancement of local manufacturing and the increased competitiveness of Made-in-India products to the policy support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

He dismissed any intentions to list Samsung India on local stock exchanges, mentioning that an IPO is not being contemplated.
