Sanjay Nagpal Appointed CPTO at The Times of India Group
Sanjay Nagpal has been appointed as Chief Product & Technology Officer at Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India). He is an IT professional with over 25 years of experience in software development, product management, technology architecture, GenAI, security, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure.
Sanjay previously served as Chief Information Officer at the India Today Group, where he led technology initiatives for digital-only brands and legacy brands alike. He was responsible for the technology and product strategy of major brands like Aaj Tak, India Today, GNT, and magazines such as Business Today, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, and Reader's Digest. He also led initiatives related to GenAI. Sanjay played an integral part in creating India's first virtual anchor and created in-house AI tool for the generation of enriched content through AI/ML technologies.
Prior to that, Sanjay worked for Times Internet and was involved with large-scale technology infrastructure management, middleware applications, as well as remote data center operations there.
Sanjay would lead transformative, technology-led initiatives, as CPTO of BCCL, towards enrichment of the editorial tech stack and integration of consumer data across functions. He will focus closely with editorial leadership for modernizing newsroom workflows, integrating AI, and establishing a unified editorial technology stack, which includes CMS, DAM, Archive, e-paper, GenAI, and other technologies. He will focus closely with brand leadership, leveraging technology to integrate and activate consumer data across functions. He will design and develop technological innovations to introduce new products that would reinforce the print business and foster BCCL's growth in a changing media landscape.
