Speaking about her new role, Markanda said, “I am thrilled to join ShareChat at such an exciting juncture in its journey. The company’s scale, reach, and regional resonance is unmatched, thereby offering advertisers an opportunity to strengthen their cultural connect, partner with trusted regional creators and plan for the always-on hyperlocal engagement. I look forward to working with the talented teams here to further enhance our offerings and support the business growth ambitions of our partners".
"I am super stoked about contributing to the company’s mission of empowering local content creators and connecting India through its language and culture".
Additionally, the second edition of the 'Short Form Big Impact Leadership Summit 2025' was announced by ETBrandEquity in collaboration with ShareChat & Moj, two of India's top domestic social media platforms. Industry executives, marketers, and decision-makers will gather at the premier event to discuss how companies can use regional storytelling and cultural intelligence to unlock development in India's quickly growing regional markets.

The summit, which will take place on August 21, 2025, in Mumbai at Taj Lands End, Bandra, and on August 28, 2025, in Gurugram at The Oberoi, will have as its topic "Culture Is the New Consumer Intelligence."
Given that 86 percent of Indians prefer information in their mother tongue and that 88 percent think local language ads have a greater impact, the country's consumer base necessitates a major change in marketing strategies from demographic-based to culture-first. With six out of ten digital users increasingly originating from non-metropolitan areas, there is a huge market opportunity worth an astounding $1 trillion.
