SIAC Appoints Vivekananda Neelakantan as New Registrar
The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) has appointed Vivekananda Neelakantan as its new Registrar, effective January 1, 2025. Neelakantan will succeed Kevin Nash, who is stepping down following his appointment as Director General of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).
He is a graduate of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and enrolled as an advocate in 2006. In India, he worked for Luthra & Luthra before moving to the chambers of Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhavan.
Between 2011 and 2014, Neelakantan served as Deputy Registrar and Head (South Asia) at SIAC. In Singapore, he worked with Allen & Gledhill before rejoining SIAC in 2023 as Deputy Registrar.
Chairman of the SIAC Board Davinder Singh SC, said in a press release, “We are pleased that Vivek will be our new Registrar. President of the SIAC Court Lucy Reed said, “Vivek’s taking the helm as Registrar will ensure a smooth transition and continuity in SIAC’s case management functions, supported by our team of multi-national common and civil lawyers, who like Kevin and Vivek is an absolute delight to work with”.
