Sundargarh Industries Contributes Rs.1 Crore To Womens SHGS

A total of five industries have agreed to provide local women's self-help organisations contracts worth at least one crore (SHGs). Several other industries committed to exploring potential business partnerships with SHGs at a district level investors' meet entitled `SHG to SME: Invest in her', which was held on Monday at Bikash Bhawan in Sundargarh town as part of the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022. The event was organised by Mission Shakti. The initiative intends to encourage business houses to be growth partners of the latter and to foster connection between district entrepreneurs and women SHG members/federations.

Sujata R.Karthikeyan, commissioner/secretary of Mission Shakti, said that the organisation is connected to almost 70 lakh women through more than six lakh SHGs. According to her, the state will flourish more generally as a result of the economic empowerment of women.

Sujata claimed that Mission Shakti has evolved from a plan into a standalone division with an own budget. The women's SHGs operating at the micro level ought to make an effort to grow into small and medium businesses. She suggested that the district government support SHGs in the areas of packaging, quality control,

product value addition, and market linkage in order to assist them advance. Different banks have given the SHGs in the Sundargarh district loans totaling more than Rs.300 crore.

Sundargarh collector Parag Harshad Gavali stressed the need of SHGs and industrial ecosystems working together effectively for both parties' benefit. He also reaffirmed the administration's commitment to assisting SHGs. He claimed that industries may purchase the goods and services provided by SGHs in exchange for a fee in order to benefit both parties.

Sundargarh collector Parag Harshad Gavali stressed the need of SHGs and industrial ecosystems working together effectively for both parties' benefit. He also reaffirmed the administration's commitment to assisting SHGs. He claimed that industries may purchase the goods and services provided by SGHs in exchange for a fee in order to benefit both parties.

He claimed that as a direct result, Dalmia Bharat, Vedanta, JSW, NTPC, and IFSL have agreed to provide SHGs with yearly business of $1 crore. Other industries have also committed to looking into potential commercial partnerships with SHGs, he said. The Humara Bachpan Trust's Arpita Patnaik spoke about the group's programmes for empowering women. The FICCI Ladies organisation and I jointly hosted the meeting.
