Godrej Agrovet, a diversified agri-business company focused on research and development, has announced an important leadership change following its Board Meeting on February 11, 2025. Upon the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board has approved the appointment of Sunil Kataria as the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director – Designate, effective May 5, 2025.

His tenure will run until August 31, 2025, after which, following the superannuation of the current CEO, Balram Singh Yadav, Kataria will formally take on the role of Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director for a term of five years, from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2030. This appointment is subject to shareholder approval.

His appointment comes after the announcement that Balram Singh Yadav, whose current tenure as Managing Director concludes on April 30, 2025, will be reappointed for an additional term from May 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025, pending shareholder approval.

The appointment of Kataria is in light of Yadav’s upcoming retirement, with the company preparing for a smooth leadership transition. This move reflects Godrej Agro’s commitment to ensuring continuity while bringing in a leader with a strong track record to drive the company forward.

Sunil Kataria brings more than 30 years of extensive experience in business leadership, having worked across multiple sectors including Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), telecommunications, and retail. A seasoned executive, he is known for his ability to lead large-scale business transformations, develop future-ready organizations, and drive growth through strategic sales and marketing initiatives.

Kataria is currently the Managing Director of Raymond Lifestyle Limited, where he has played a key role in driving the company’s growth and innovation. Before this, he was the CEO – India & SAARC at Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) from 2015, contributing significantly to the company’s senior leadership.

A graduate in Economics from Delhi University and holding an MBA in Marketing from IMT Ghaziabad, Kataria started his career at Marico, where he spent over ten years developing his expertise in marketing and sales.
