Suzuki and Maruti to Launch Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence in India
Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) and Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced a plan to create the Osamu Suzuki Centre of Excellence (OSCOE) in India in remembrance of the late great leader Osamu Suzuki.
This development was made during the memorial service for former SMC Chairman Osamu Suzuki, which was held today in Yashobhoomi, Delhi.
Osamu Suzuki, who passed away in Japan on December 25, 2024, played a key role in introducing Suzuki to India in the early 1980s by collaborating with the government-backed Maruti Udyog Limited.
Maruti Suzuki, the nation's biggest passenger car manufacturer with a market share of more than 40 percent, was born as a result.
The purpose of this new center of excellence, which will be built in Gujarat and Haryana, is to promote his industrial philosophy and showcase his contributions to nation-building.
The Padma Vibhushan, the nation's second-highest civilian honor, will be given to Osamu Suzuki, the Indian government has already stated.
By strengthening the capacities of component producers at all levels, the planned OSCOE seeks to promote rapid manufacturing expansion in India.
Through the construction of infrastructure and cooperative academic programs that include lectures, seminars, and discussions, it aims to increase supply chains' worldwide competitiveness and advance the Japanese manufacturing philosophy.
