TATA Projects Receives Multiple Mega Bio Ethanol Projects Aimed At Reducing Agri-Waste Burning

TATA Projects, one of India's fastest growing & most admired infrastructure companies announces the acquisition of multiple mega projects in the oil & gas refinery sector with combined value totaling more than Rs. 6000 crore.

Out of the multiple orders received by the firm, three are from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd (HRRL) and one is from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). The BCPL project for its 2G Bio Ethanol Project at Bargarh, Odisha, proposes for a production capacity of 100 KL of Second Generation Ethanol per day.

This project is of significant importance as the Government of India is encouraging production of cellulosic ethanol from agricultural residues to provide additional sources of remuneration to farmers. Moreover, the project will also assist in addressing growing environmental concerns & supporting the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) program besides reducing environmental pollution due to burning of agricultural waste. Thus, the project will enhance the nation's energy security. Once complete, it will produce fuel grade ethanol meeting specifications as per IS 15464:2004, using domestic agro based lingo-cellulosic feedstock.

green-field Refinery cum Petrochemical Complex set up in Rajasthan include - the coveted Crude Distillation Unit & Vacuum Distillation Unit (CDU-VDU), Delayed Coker Unit (DCU) with Unsaturated LPG Treating Unit, and a Vacuum Gas Oil Hydro-treating Unit & Refinery (VGO HDT) with a capacity of 3.5 MMTPA.
