TCS and ABB Partner on Multi-Year AI Network Modernization Initiative

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has obtained a multi-million-dollar, multi-year agreement from Swiss engineering and automation leader ABB to upgrade and oversee its global network operations, the Indian IT services giant revealed on July 13, without sharing the financial details of the contract.
With the broadened involvement, TCS will assume full responsibility for worldwide network operations utilizing an AI-powered network-as-a-service (NaaS) approach, broadening its current role to include more than just infrastructure and application management.
"By incorporating AI into the network operations model, underpinned by a secure digital framework and our extensive domain knowledge, we are applying our 'infrastructure to intelligence' strategy to create a robust, smart network backbone," stated TCS manufacturing president Anupam Singhal.
The agreement is part of ABB's Future Network Model initiative, a company-wide effort focused on standardizing and centralizing its worldwide network infrastructure. TCS will develop, integrate, and manage ABB's worldwide network ecosystem while overseeing a multi-vendor setting to enhance security, operational efficiency, and service provision.
The transformation initiative encompasses establishing a worldwide network operations center, service integration and management (SIAM), enhanced cybersecurity features, and upgrading ABB's LAN, WAN, and software-defined WAN framework.
