TCS to Invest up to Rs.1,500 Crore; to Set Up Digital Hub at Kerala Technocity

TCS is all set to expand in Kerala and has reserved Rs.1,200-Rs.1,500 crore for this and generate 20,000 jobs. The company has also signed a MoU with Technopark in Kerala for leasing 97 acres of land at its Technocity campus to set up a digital hub for engineering, product development and IT Services across manufacturing, defence and aerospace sectors with a focus on new generation technologies.

The MoU was signed by TCS vice president Dinesh Thampi and Technopark CEO Sasi P M in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior officials of Kerala government and TCS.

The first phase of the project is estimated to be completed in 22-28 months, which will generate 5,000 jobs.

TCS also plans an incubation centre for technology startups in the hub.

State CM promised TCS all support for wrapping up their investment and completing the project. He said that various existing TCS facilities in the state are already employing 15,000 people. Tata Elxsi, the group company, will also set up its digital development centre within the new TCS campus.
