
Teams from New Delhi and Washington to Finalize Trade Talks

In a major move to reduce India-US tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on that teams from New Delhi and Washington are collaborating to finalize their trade talks promptly, which could alleviate America's tariff pressures. In response to Donald Trump's post regarding trade discussions on X, the Prime Minister expressed his eagerness to converse with the US President.
"India and the United States are close allies and natural collaborators. I believe that our trade discussions will clear the path for unleashing the boundless possibilities of the India-US alliance. Our teams are striving to wrap up these talks as soon as possible," PM Modi mentioned in a post on X.

"I am eager to have a conversation with President Trump." Together, we will strive to ensure a brighter and more prosperous future for all our citizens.
Trump shared PM Modi's X post on his Truth Social platform, indicating a warming of relations.

PM Modi's comments followed reports stating that he had, at least four occasions, skipped President Trump's calls due to New Delhi's growing irritation regarding Trump's "unjustified" punitive tariffs aimed at India's Russian oil trade.
Trump declared that his administration had restarted trade talks with India. "I am happy to share that India and the United States are still in talks to tackle the Trade Barriers between our two Countries," he wrote on Truth Social.

He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "great friend" and mentioned that he anticipates speaking with him "in the weeks ahead."
"I am confident that achieving a successful outcome for both of our great nations will pose no challenge," he stated.
Trump's most recent statement comes after a recent easing of tone from the US side. On Friday, during a press conference at the White House, Trump remarked, "I will always remain friends with Prime Minister Modi" and labeled him a "great Prime Minister."
India and the U.S. share a unique bond. Trump remarked that there is no cause for concern.
