Trump Taps Elon Musk, Tim Cook for High-Profile China Trip

According to reports, notable US leaders from major technology companies to agriculture have been asked to accompany President Donald Trump on his visit to China this week.
On Tuesday, Trump departs for Beijing to meet with President Xi Jinping. In addition to talks regarding Iran, the two leaders are anticipated to cover trade and artificial intelligence.
Here’s an overview of several executives per the White House official, who was not permitted to speak publicly and requested to remain anonymous.
Musk, head of Tesla and SpaceX, directed Trump's Department of Government Efficiency until departing in the spring of 2025, prior to the contentious temporary agency's closure in November.

Since that time, Musk has redirected his efforts toward Tesla and his other ventures. Tesla operates in China, and Musk has been there.

He's also contending with French prosecutors pursuing charges against him and X for child sexual abuse images on the platform, deepfakes, misinformation, and complicity in denying crimes against humanity by the platform's AI system, Grok.
There's also a test placing Musk in competition with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
Cook stays occupied as his time at Apple comes to an end. Last month, the CEO declared that his 15-year tenure leading the technology firm will conclude on Sept. 1, when he hands over the CEO responsibilities to John Ternus, Apple's head of hardware engineering.

Under Cook's leadership, Apple experienced a surge in market value exceeding $3.6 trillion during a prosperous period driven by the iPhone. Cook will continue with the company as executive chairman.
