UAE Rolls Out New Digital Services for Students and Universities

The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) is implementing a significant digital transformation initiative designed to streamline and expedite services for students and universities.
As part of the initiative, the ministry aims to cut its electronic offerings from 38 to 18 optimized digital services and enhance the use of artificial intelligence to boost efficiency and service.
The initiative aims to facilitate a more seamless interaction for students and universities by utilizing a consolidated digital platform.
The platform will concentrate on two primary customer paths — one catering to students and the other to higher education institutions — aiming to streamline processes and enhance service accessibility.
The ministry stated that the transformation strategy focuses on four main areas: enhancing efficiency via automation, creating proactive and tailored services, guaranteeing digital accessibility, and boosting the implementation of artificial intelligence throughout operations and services.
Amani Al Bannai, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Operations and Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, stated that digital transformation is aiding in the development of a more adaptable and effective higher education system.

Artificial intelligence is currently applied in various fields, such as intelligent chatbots addressing customer inquiries, analyzing data, categorizing cases, tracking service delivery schedules, and aiding in technical suggestions. The ministry stated that these tools enhance efficiency and accelerate responses.
Multiple digital initiatives are anticipated to debut this year. This encompasses an enhanced edition of Edu Hub, the ministry's platform for admissions and registration in higher education institutions.
