VinFast Partners with AI Firm on 'robo-car' System

VinFast and Autobrains, a top AI innovator in the automotive sector, today revealed a strategic alliance to create L2++ autonomous driving technology and a novel autonomous vehicle architecture that can convert nearly any car into a self-driving "robo-car."
The partnership highlights its increasing technological prowess and strengthens the dedication to promoting autonomous solutions that provide innovative yet affordable vehicle technology for individuals globally.
The strategic partnership concentrates on the research and advancement of improved L2++ autonomous driving technologies for upcoming VinFast electric vehicles.
VinFast’s existing EV passenger lineup comes with Level 2 driving assistance capabilities, and the enhanced L2++ system is currently in pilot testing on the VF 8 and VF 9 models.
This collaboration creates a solid basis for VinFast to gradually incorporate enhanced autonomous features throughout its entire product range, emphasizing the firm's dedication to providing safer, more intelligent, and user-friendly mobility experiences for clients globally.
Moreover, the collaboration will investigate and create the “Robo-Car” system — an unprecedented AI framework that removes the necessity for expensive LiDAR, radar clusters, or high-definition maps.
Rather, the system utilizes seven standard cameras along with a small, high-efficiency computing chip that can execute around 20 trillion operations each second, allowing for sophisticated autonomous capabilities at a much lower cost and complexity than conventional systems.
