Wipro Appoints Omkar Nisal as CEO of Europe Strategic Market Unit
Wipro has named Omkar Nisal as the Chief Executive Officer of its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. Omkar will report directly to Srini Pallia, Wipro’s CEO and Managing Director.
As part of his new role, Omkar will also join the Wipro Executive Board. He succeeds Pierre Bruno, who is stepping down after four years of leadership and will work closely with Omkar during the transition period.
Omkar brings over a decade of experience with Wipro, where he has established himself as a trusted advisor and an accomplished leader. He has been instrumental in building high-performing teams and working with clients across various business sectors to drive digital transformation and deliver exceptional outcomes.
Omkar previously led Wipro’s Banking-EMEA business, where he collaborated with financial institutions across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to improve customer experiences and implement AI-driven automation solutions. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, overseeing a regional business with annual revenues exceeding a billion dollars.
An honors graduate in Computer Science, Omkar is also a technologist at heart, holding patents in the fields of fraud detection, anti-money laundering, and digital channels.
