WiproWipro Hydraulics, a division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has announced the acquisition of Columbus Hydraulics, a US-based firm, to expand its foothold in the North American market. The specifics of the deal have not been revealed.

Through this acquisition, Wipro Hydraulics has secured complete ownership of Columbus Hydraulics, which will now operate as a fully-owned subsidiary of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. This strategic move aims to enhance Wipro's manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its market presence in North America.

Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises, commented, “This acquisition greatly enhances our position and increases our manufacturing capabilities in North America. By incorporating Columbus Hydraulics' expertise in specialized hydraulic solutions, we plan to provide more comprehensive offerings to our clients”.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, noted that this acquisition follows the recent acquisition of Mailhot Industries, intended to drive growth in the North American market. He added that Columbus Hydraulics will enable the company to offer a wider array of hydraulic solutions for diverse applications.

Columbus Hydraulics, located in Nebraska, contributes 150 skilled employees and a modern facility covering 120,000 square feet to Wipro's operations. This acquisition represents Wipro’s fifth in the hydraulics sector and its fourteenth overall.

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, headquartered in Bengaluru, operates in various sectors including hydraulics, industrial automation, aerospace, water treatment, and additive manufacturing.
