Genpact Names Balkrishan Kalra as Next CEO

Genpact, a global business process management company, has announced that Balkrishan (BK) Kalra will become the company's next CEO on February 9. The New York-based company announced that current CEO NV (Tiger) Tyagarajan, who is also chairman, will step down after more than 12 years at the helm. Kalra is currently the global business leader for Genpact's financial and consumer services and healthcare businesses. He joined the company in 1999 and has held various positions since then.

According to the company, Kalra leads Genpact's global transformation efforts in banking, capital markets, consumer goods, retail, life sciences, and healthcare, helping companies better leverage technology and AI solutions.

James Madden, chairman of Genpact's Board of Directors, says, “We're delighted to announce BK as Genpact's coming CEO, a leader with a proven track record of delivering business results and fostering deep customer connections. In planning for Tiger's withdrawal, the Broad shouldered a robust process, assessing a number of internal and external campaigners. In the end, BK stood out as the natural successor.”

Tech Mahindra Appoints Peeyush Dubey as New CMO

Indian IT services industry veteran Peeyush Dubey has joined Tech Mahindra as its new principal marketing officer. This announcement comes days after the company's CEO designate, Mohit Joshi, announced that Tech Mahindra has appointed a new CMO as a part of the ongoing internal restructuring.

Before joining Tech Mahindra, Dubey served as joint head of both Mindtree and LTI until 2022. After that, he joined TheMathCompany, an AI analytics solutions company. Prior to that, he worked at Infosys for over a decade as a Global Marketing Manager. The director has almost three decades of experience in the field of IT services.

HCLTech Appoints Sonia Eland as Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand

HCLTech, the Indian information technology services company, named Sonia Eland as its administrative vice-president and country director for Australia and New Zealand, effective April 1, 2024. Eland will be grounded in Sydney, and she takes over from Michael Horton, who's taking up a consulting part after spending around 10 times with HCLTech. Horton helped establish HCLTech as a trusted digital technology services partner in Australia and New Zealand.

An alumna of Macquarie Business School and the University of Sydney, Eland has more than three decades of experience in consulting, technology, banking, retail, and travel. Before joining HCLTech, she was the technology strategy and metamorphosis partner at Deloitte Australia. She worked with DXC Technology, CSC, Fujitsu, Westpac, and HSBC before that.

HP Appoints former Apple executive Ipsita Dasgupta as SVP and MD for India Biz

US PC mammoth HP appoints Ipsita Dasgupta as the elderly Vice President and Managing Director of HP’s India market. Dasgupta will lead all aspects of HP’s strategy and P&L in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and report to David McQuarrie, HP's Chief Commercial Officer. Gurpreet Singh Brar, who has been officiating as interim MD since November 2022, will move to a new part of the Vice President, Innovation and Growth for HP's India Market.

On Ipsita Dasgupta’s appointment, David McQuarrie, HP's Chief Commercial Officer, says, “India is a crucial growth area for HP, and I’m thrilled to drink Ipsita to continue driving our traction and instigation in this dynamic request. Dasgupta’s earlier stint was with Apple in the capacity of elderly Director of Marketing for Apple Services grounded at Apple headquarters, leading Global Synergy Marketing, External Partnership Marketing, Consumer perceptivity, and Market and Competitive Intelligence for Apple's subscription services. Prior to Apple, she held administrative positions in colorful transnational companies, including President of Corporate Strategy and Incubated Business at Star India, A Walt Disney Company, and Chief Commercial Officer for South Asia and Greater China at General Electric Company.

Birlasoft Appoints Selvakumaran Mannappan as COO

Birlasoft Ltd, part of the $ 2.9 billion diversified CK Birla Group, blazed the appointment of Selvakumaran Mannappan as Chief Operating Officer (COO) effective October 18, 2023. Selvakumaran will be necessary in elevating Birlasoft's delivery excellence strategy, embodying state-of-the-art technologies to deliver exceptional value.
