What is Microsoft Building for Build 2022?
Microsoft Build is a must-attend event for developers, engineers, IT professionals, students, and startups. Every year, Microsoft hosts a conference to showcase its latest technology achievements in operating systems, services, software, and other areas. Microsoft Build will be an online event this year, as it has been the last two years. Beginning on May 24, it will take place over two days.
The Builds used to occur in Seattle; however, that has changed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Microsoft was unable to keep its initial concept for the organization of this event due to barrier gestures and differing health laws. As a result, the event was hosted online in 2020 and also in 2021; thus, the same will be repeated this year as well.

Microsoft's Build conferences have traditionally been business-focused, but they have recently included some consumer-oriented content. From last year's events, there were new advancements and features in Microsoft Teams, as well as 'next-generation' Windows. This year's event is likely to be similar.

Microsoft Teams: Third-party developers can use Microsoft's programming APIs, components, and tools. The significant aspect is that Microsoft allows developers to offer Teams app subscriptions. Microsoft has also provided new functionality to its Teams apps for meetings, including Shared stage integration, which gives developers additional access to a Teams meeting's main stage. Another innovation is the extensibility of the Together Mode, which allows developers to create new scenes for Teams meetings and share them with users. Developers have real-time access to audio and video streams for transcription, translation, note-taking, and more, thanks to Media APIs and resource-specific consent. In addition, Microsoft Teams' real-time, fluid components are now in private preview. These liquid components enable users to send messages to one another.
“That’s why we built Teams as that organizing layer for all the ways people work, learn, and collaborate,” Nadella said, noting that Teams now counts more than 145 million daily users, almost double the amount from a year ago. “It’s the only solution that brings together meetings, calls, chat, document collaboration, and workflow in a single integrated user experience, and enables you to bring collaboration to the forefront of app design.”
Microsoft Edge 91: Sleeping Tabs and Startup Boost were the two new features launched, with both boosting speed as well as enabling the Edge browser to work more smoothly on low-end hardware. For example, the new Sleeping Tabs feature automatically puts tabs to sleep. This means that the Edge browser will run smoothly on low-cost PCs. Meanwhile, Starting Boost will speed up Edge's startup time by performing tasks in the background. In the Beta channel, Microsoft Edge 91 is now accessible.
Enhancing the ARM Experience on PC
Both Qualcomm and Microsoft are improving the Windows on ARM experience on PCs. With its Snapdragon Developer Kit for Windows 10 PCs, Qualcomm allows developers to create ARM64 apps for Snapdragon-based computers. For developers, Qualcomm has designed a Windows on ARM-based dev kit.
“Across all the opportunities I’ve highlighted today, Windows is implicit,” Nadella said during his keynote. “It’s never been more important. Windows 10 is used by more than 1.3 billion people to work, learn, connect, and play. And it all starts with Windows as a dev box.”
