In the education industry, the effectiveness and longterm success of an institution are often a reflection of its leadership. Great educational leaders do more than manage schools; they create a vision, inspire innovation, nurture talent, and build systems that prepare students for a rapidly changing world.

Strong leadership provides direction, drives transformation and ensures that institutions remain relevant while staying true to their core values. DR Anirudh Gupta, CEO of DCM Group of Schools exemplifies this philosophy through nearly three decades of visionary leadership.

For the past 28 years, his journey has been deeply intertwined with the evolution of the institution, transforming it into a future-ready educational ecosystem driven by purpose, innovation, and excellence. Under his leadership, DCM Group has embraced the belief that education, like every other sector, must continuously evolve to meet emerging societal and economic needs.

Despite being headquartered in a border region rather than a metropolitan city, DCM Group of Schools has emerged as a pioneer in educational innovation. The institution has introduced professionalism in administration and operations, established India’s first School of Entrepreneurship in the K-12 segment, adopted experiential and project-based learning methodologies, and integrated Artificial Intelligence across its educational framework.

DR Gupta believes that effective leadership in education extends beyond academic outcomes. It involves preparing students for the future while contributing to national development. As DCM Group celebrates 80 years of educational excellence, the institution has already charted a strategic roadmap for the next two decades. Its vision aligns with national initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Digital India, focusing on nurturing future-ready learners, entre -preneurs, innovators, and responsible citizens.

Through his forward-thinking leadership, DR Gupta continues to demonstrate how strong educational leadership can transform institutions empower communities, and create a lasting impact on society. His work stands as a testament to the critical role leaders play in shaping the future of education and nation-building.
CEO Insights magazine engaged in a one-on-one interaction with DR Anirudh Gupta let’s hear from him

DCM Group of Schools has an 80-year legacy. What were your key priorities in transforming it into a future-ready education ecosystem?

Transforming an 80-year-old institution is always more challenging than building a new one, because legacy systems and established practices are deeply rooted. My priority has been to transform every part of the organization, from academics and cocurricular scholastic activities to administration and operations.

I have always believed that change should not be imposed; people must understand its purpose. Therefore, we focused on building consensus among all stakeholders.

While preserving our values ethics, and traditions, we introduced innovation, research, experimentation, and modern practices. This balance has helped us evolve into a future-ready education eco -system.

I have always believed that technology should facilitate learning, not replace teachers. We trained our educators and staff to use AI tools, digital platforms, and productivity applications to improve teaching effectiveness and reduce routine workload

What academic frameworks or strategies have you adopted to maintain strong student learning outcomes across your schools?

For me, expansion should never come at the cost of quality. We have created strong academic benchmarks, clear rubrics, and regular monitoring systems across all our campuses. Continuous training, discipline, safety, hygiene, academic excellence, and personality development remain important focus areas.

We have also established Entrepreneurship Development Centres and Schools of Ethics & Etiquettes to support holistic learning. Regular internal and external audits help us identify gaps and improve consistently. Technology further supports our quality systems by helping us track learning outcomes, conduct assessments, and refine our academic processes in a structured and effective manner.

How is technology being integrated into classrooms and school operations at DCM Group of Schools?

Our digital transformation began almost a decade ago with the goal of achieving 100 percent digital literacy across the organization. I have always believed that technology should facilitate learning, not replace teachers. We trained our
educators and staff to use AI tools, digital platforms, and productivity applications to improve teaching effectiveness and reduce routine workload.

Our campuses now have interactive flat panels, AI labs, Mac labs, and technology-enabled assessment systems. We also collaborate with organizations like Microsoft, Google, and Canva. Most importantly, our students are not just users of technology; they are becoming creators of technology.

How do you ensure continuous professional development and leadership growth among educators?

Continuous Professional Development is a core part of our system. We have a dedicated department that designs structured training calendars for our educators.

Our training goes beyond subject knowledge and includes classroom management, technology integration adole - scent psychology, behavioral management, career counseling, communication, and leadership skills.

I strongly believe in nurturing leaders from within the organization. Whenever leadership opportunities arise, we first identify and groom internal talent.

This helps us build a strong leadership pipeline of people who understand our culture and vision. We also encourage leadership among students, administrative teams, and operational staff.

How do you envision the future role of DCM Group of Schools in shaping next generation learners in India?

I believe education is the most powerful tool for nation-building. As one of India’s oldest educational institutions, we understand our responsibility in shaping future generations. Our aim is not just to prepare students for the present world, but for the world they will enter 15 to 20 years from now.

This requires future-ready skills such as creativity, critical thinking, resilience, entrepre- neurship, financial literacy, and global citizenship.

At DCM Group of Schools, we want to nurture learners who can solve complex problems, contribute positively to society and become responsible leaders of tomorrow.
