In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights, Dr. Manish talks more about his professional journey and the unique business operations of Innvocept Global Solutions.
1.Can you talk more about your educational and professional background? Also, what motivated you to enter this industry?
I am a chemistry graduate and I also have a Doctorate in Clinical Research. I have nearly two decades of experience in clinical research and I have worked in all the different facets of clinical research starting from project conception till execution for leading business organizations. Apart from that I have ample pharma and CRO exposure both locally and globally.
Throughout my professional experience I felt like there is a noticeable lack of companies catering to mid and small sized pharma companies. We acknowledged this gap and wanted to offer our services to these companies. We also cater to academic research institutions and assist them in their research activities to take it to the next level. When we set out to start a business, one of our objectives was to increase employment in India and there by become part of the nation building process.
2.Can you give us a brief overview about Innvocept Global Solutions?
The name of our company comes from innovation and concept. Those two are the cornerstones of our foundation. We are a midsized CRO as of now but we have been able to create our own identity in the market. The expertise, industry experience and commitment of our team has been the primary catalyst behind our success. From two people, when we started the business, as of now, we have grown into a team of 40plus pioneering professionals. Women empowerment is one of our top priorities and owing to that, we have given plenty of opportunities to women in our organization. We have deliberately taken measures to make sure that we have an inclusive working environment where our employees can thrive as a professional but also at the same time have a great work life balance.
3.How would you describe your leadership style?
I am a first generation entrepreneur but that hasn’t stopped me from pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams. When it comes to leadership, I believe that my biggest strength as a leader is to bring
people together and make them work as a team to reach our common goals while at the same time helping each team member to develop them selves. Apart from that, my subject matter expertise and ability to mentor others have helped me to drive our business growth.
I also understand that no one can do everything in a business on their own and this is where our Co-founder Suraj Madhavan comes into play. While I work in the planning aspect of our operations, he takes

care of the execution part of it. We both complement each other really well and our visionary ideas have helped us to take our company to the next level. Going global with offices across the world was one such idea of ours and as of now, we have our offices in Canada, Malaysia, and USA.
4.How did you deal with issues caused by the pandemic? Also,in your professional journey which are the milestones that gave you utmost satisfaction?
Covid was a surprise for most businesses across multiple industry verticals but our existing decentralized model of work helped us to tackle the pandemic without facing any major issues. Even though we had many employees working remotely we made sure that we took all the necessary health precautions so that we can continue our operations without any delays. As the captains of the ship, me and Suraj view things positively and this positive attitude helped us to deal with the pandemic with relative ease.
When it comes to milestones, the fact that me and Suraj came together and started Innvocept Global Solutions in itself the biggest satisfaction for me. After our inception, the early days were challenging and there were lots of struggles, but we didn’t break. We kept on improving and that is something that I take great pride in. Apart from that, when we opened our offices outside India and entered the global market space, that also brings me great amounts of joy.
5.Going forward, what are some of the major future plans of the company?
We believe that the Healthcare Industry will be predominantly digital in the coming years and there would be more focus on personalized and precision medicines. As a clinical research organization, we want to become more of a knowledge partner driven by digitization to bring advancements to India from the outside. More importantly, through our offerings, we not only want to help our clients but we also want to serve the general public as well.
