With more than four decades professional experience, his career spans approximately 28 years in corporate leadership and professional roles and 14 years as an entrepreneur, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of both established corporate environments and the demands of building an independent enterprise.
Sajeev holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT Kharagpur, which he completed in 1984. He further strengthened his managerial capabilities through executive education in the Middle Management Program at IIM Ahmedabad.
During his corporate career, he worked with prominent organizations including Asian Paints and ITW India Limited. A significant part of his professional journey was shaped at ITW India Limited, a major US multinational, where he spent nearly 23 years.
This extensive exposure provided him with valuable insights into global business practices, technical operations, quality standards, and organizational management.
Building on these experiences, Sajeev transitioned into entrepreneurship and established his own business in Bangalore. Today his technical education, multi -national corporate exposure, industry knowledge, and entrepreneurial experience collectively shape his leadership at ZChem Specialities and his approach to advancing non-destructive testing and industrial quality solutions.
What core principles define your leadership philosophy and help you build a resilient, quality-driven orga- nization?
My leadership philosophy rests on three principles: absolute clarity of vision, disciplined execution, and building a capable and trustworthy team. A leader must clearly define the organization’s direction and communicate it effectively across every level.
Creating the right culture and maintaining consistency are equally important. However, vision alone cannot deliver results; disciplined execution is essential to translate goals into outcomes.
I also believe that a trustworthy and capable team forms the foundation of a resilient organization. These principles have guided me throughout my corporate and entrepreneurial journey and continue to shape how we pursue quality, growth, and continuous improvement.
What trends are reshaping non-destructive testing, and how is ZChem Specialities responding to these develop-ments?
Conventional non-destructive testing does not experience technological change as rapidly as some other industries.
However, artificial intelligence is gradually creating new possibilities, particularly in improving inspection accuracy and reducing dependence on human judgment.
We are exploring how AI can be incorporated into our technologies and processes to enhance customer confidence and strengthen our competitive position.
At present, AI adoption within the NDT industry is still evolving, and companies are determining the most effective ways to implement it.
We are closely following these develop -ments and evaluating opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve our processes, solutions, and overall value to customers.
Could you highlight ZChem Specialities’ core NDT offerings and their role in improving quality and operational safety?
We manufacture consumables and equipment required for non-destructive testing processes, serving industries such as aerospace, automotive, ship- building, general engineering, and foundries, where critical engineering components demand high levels of quality and reliability.

A significant milestone has been securing U.S. Air Force approval, one of the most stringent approvals for our category of products. We currently supply to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and our next focus is expanding further into the U.S. and China, followed by Europe. We aim to build this global presence independently while consistently delivering world-class quality.
