A rich mineral state, with coal reserves at Singareni Colleries, Telangana is one of the fastest-growing states in southern India. While the state's GDP stood at Rs.12.05 lakh crore ($170 billion) for the year 2020-21, it is expected to reach Rs 13.04 lakh crore ($160 billion) for the year 2022-23. While the main industries are the Automobiles and auto components industry, spices, mines and minerals, textiles and apparels, pharmaceutical, horticulture, poultry farming in Telangana, exemplary growth in the region has largely been fuelled by services industry with the State holding leading position in IT & ITeS in the country in terms of production and exports. Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana is the IT hub of India, with IT/ ITeS exports reaching Rs.183,569 crore ($22.95 billion) in 2022, with a 26.14 percent year-on-year growth.
Using the prowess of technology and digitization, promoting dexterity in diverse business domains, many businesses are leveraging their skills in the industry today, and the region has a lot of startups swamping the market in diverse segments. There are around 3000 startups in Hyderabad alone, be it FMCG, Learning platforms, Beauty & Personal care products, Fashion, Even Management, Festival servicing companies, or more. But, e-Commerce tops the list, having major share of India's startups. Also, according to the state government, Telangana has 2.6 million MSMEs, out of which 56 percent are in rural areas. Well, the leaders in Telangana startups need to be acknowledged for their diligent business efforts and boost the state's economy.
