International insurance group Ageas has announced the appointment of Karolien Gielen as Managing Director Asia and Business Development, effective 1 February 2026.

Gielen, who is presently the Managing Director of Business Development (covering Strategy, CDSO, M&A, and Communications), will be taking over from Filip Coremans, who has chosen to resign following over 23 years with the Ageas Group.

As per the announcement, Coremans will stay engaged with Ageas until 30 June 2026 to facilitate a seamless transition.

To sustain the robust connection between the Regional Office Asia and the Corporate Centre in Brussels, the insurer is merging the positions of Managing Director Asia and Business Development; a decision that also aims to enhance collaboration across the Group.
