Air India Restores International Flights After Ahmedabad Crash Pause

Separator

imgAir India has begun to gradually reinstate its international flight schedule, which had been temporarily diminished or halted for 'safety checks' following the unfortunate crash in Ahmedabad on June 12.

The airline stated that during the suspension, it conducted additional precautionary inspections on its Boeing 787 fleet.

Due to heightened scrutiny and safety concerns regarding its Boeing aircraft, Air India has canceled several international flights.

The airline announced today that it will partially restore schedules that were reduced due to its 'Safety Pause' following the tragic incident involving AI171 on June 12, 2025.

This pause allowed Air India to carry out extra precautionary inspections of its Boeing 787 planes, as well as to accommodate longer flying durations resulting from airspace restrictions over Pakistan and the Middle East.

Air India mentioned that the partial resumption will resume some flight frequencies starting from August 1, compared to July, with full restoration anticipated by October 1, 2025.

From August 1 to September 30, Air India will offer three weekly flights between Ahmedabad and London (Heathrow), instead of the currently operating five weekly flights between Ahmedabad and London (Gatwick), according to the airline.

Since the schedule reductions instituted during the Safety Pause will be in effect until July 31, 2025, and full operations will be gradually reinstated, some flights that were originally scheduled to run between August 1 and September 30, 2025, will be removed from the timetable. Air India is proactively reaching out to impacted passengers to provide options for rebooking on different flights or a complete refund, depending on their preference. Air India expresses its apologies for the inconvenience.

In addition, with this partial restoration, Air India will operate over 525 international flights weekly across 63 short, long, and ultra long-haul routes.
