Vanya Steels is planning to invest Rs 100 crore to establish a 10 MW waste-to-energy power plant intended for internal use. This facility will be built at the company’s location in Koppal, Karnataka, and is projected to begin operations by July 31, 2025.

"Utilizing state-of-the-art Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) technology, this initiative will transform industrial waste heat into clean energy, representing a key milestone in sustainable manufacturing for the area," explains Krishan Kumar Jallan, Founder & Chairman of A-One Steel Group.

The 10 MW power project is being carried out via Vanya Steels, a subsidiary of the company, with a total investment of approximately Rs 100 crore at its Koppal site.

“The WHRB-driven captive power facility will utilize leftover heat generated from the steel production process, energy that is typically wasted, and convert it into a dependable source of renewable power. This will help decrease reliance on grid electricity, reduce operational expenses, and lower carbon emissions, thus advancing both environmental objectives and energy security,” states Krishan.

“By capturing waste heat to produce clean energy, we are proving that environmentally responsible manufacturing is not only beneficial for the planet but also provides a strategic edge that enhances our competitiveness, supports local communities, and aligns with India’s vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat,” Krishan adds.
