Andhra CM to Catapult Amaravati as Top Quantum Computing Hub

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, introduced the State's ambitious Quantum Vision plan. This initiative aims to elevate Amaravati, the upcoming greenfield capital city, into a leading global hub for quantum computing, known as the Quantum Valley.
Speaking to a large gathering of students through a virtual platform, the chief minister emphasized the commitment of the southern State to cultivating advanced skills for the future, generating numerous high-paying employment opportunities, embracing a strategy focused on products, advancing the development of various types of quantum computers, and establishing a comprehensive manufacturing supply chain for quantum technology.

"Andhra Pradesh Vision: Quantum Valley in Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh will not follow, we will lead...everybody is prepared to produce quantum computers in Amaravati. Almost all 80 percent or 85 percent component partners are ready," says Naidu.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that within a span of two years, quantum computers will be manufactured in Amaravati. He also added that anyone looking to establish a knowledge-based company or technology firm must consider Amaravati as the ideal location.

Additionally, Naidu pledged a prize of 100 crore rupees to any individual who receives a Nobel Prize in quantum computing for their research conducted within Andhra Pradesh. He also recommended that students should embrace innovation and focus on creating new products rather than relying on conventional thinking.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has disclosed plans for the creation of a task force and the establishment of a cutting-edge quantum computing hub known as the "Quantum Valley" in alignment with the objectives of the National Quantum Mission.
The project will be formulated in partnership with IIT Madras, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and IBM with the intention of establishing Andhra Pradesh as a prominent center for quantum computing research on a national level.
The objective of the government is to draw in top-notch professionals and international funding to the region. To spearhead this initiative, the state convened a crucial meeting with prominent figures from the industry and experts, such as Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, S.N. Subrahmanyan, Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, and J.B.V. Reddy, leader of the Quantum Technology Centre at DST.

Additionally, distinguished individuals in attendance included Satyanarayana Kalidindi, Director of IIT-Tirupati, Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, Amith Singhee, Director of IBM Research India, and Venkat Subramaniam from IBM Quantum India.
He elaborated on the consultation with stakeholders regarding the incorporation of quantum computing into Amaravati's technological framework and the potential for research in this area. Naidu emphasized that the state's emphasis on emerging technologies is consistent with its goal of becoming a pioneer in innovation and scientific progress.
