Australia Opens Applications for Australia Awards Scholarships 2027

Australia has begun accepting applications for the 2027 cycle of its Australia Awards Scholarships, providing fully funded educational opportunities for students from specific developing nations.

The Australian Government announced that application submissions will open on February 1, 2026, with a closing date of April 30, 2026, at 2 pm AEST.

The scholarships enable qualified individuals to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programs at participating universities throughout Australia.

The Australian Government provides funding for the program, which focuses on enhancing skills and leadership abilities in upcoming professionals anticipated to aid in the growth of their native countries.

The Australia Awards Scholarships are characterized as a competitive program funded by the government, aiming for long-term support of partner nations.

The program includes complete tuition costs and round-trip airfare for chosen students. It also provides a setup grant to assist with housing, books, and educational resources.

Students awarded scholarships receive Overseas Student Health Cover throughout their study period. Moreover, the program provides a contribution towards living expenses, disbursed every two weeks at a rate determined by the department. Students can also obtain academic and language assistance if needed throughout their course.

The program accepts applications from a designated list of participating countries released by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills, a dedication to growth, and the capability to positively impact their communities following the completion of their education.

Recipients of the scholarship are required to sign a contract that accepts the program’s terms.
