Avanade Names Achal Kataria as Managing Director and CEO, India

Avanade, a specialist in Microsoft technologies, has named Achal Kataria as Managing Director and CEO of Avanade India, effective immediately.
In his new position, Kataria will guide the company’s upcoming growth stage in the Indian market and assist organizations in speeding up responsible, AI-driven transformation.
Achal’s appointment occurs as Avanade aims to boost its presence in India amidst the rising adoption of cloud technologies, the surge in artificial intelligence, and increasing tech investments by emerging businesses and mid-sized organizations seeking tangible transformation results.

Since its entrance into the Indian market, Avanade has enhanced its local expertise, bolstered partnerships with Microsoft and Accenture, and collaborated with entities aiming to transition from AI trials to comprehensive organizational transformation.

Achal possesses over 30 years of expertise in technology services, enterprise transformation, global operations, and commercial leadership. His professional background covers banking, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications, and life sciences.
Before joining Avanade, Achal directed Cognizant’s operations in India, where he focused on promoting growth, enhancing strategic client partnerships, and broadening the firm’s market footprint. He has additionally occupied senior leadership positions at EXL, Tech Mahindra, Genpact, and Hughes Software Systems.
As CEO and Managing Director, Achal will manage Avanade’s operational strategy and business in India. He will collaborate with clients, partners, and employees to drive growth, enhance the company's market visibility, and assist organisations in achieving tangible results from digital and AI transformations.
