Bacardi India Names Goodies Narayanan as Director of Marketing

imgGoodies Narayanan has been appointed as the Director of Marketing - Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for India by Bacardi India. Previously, Narayanan held the position of Head of International Marketing, Revenue, and Growth at Coursera.

Commenting on her new role, Narayanan said, “At Bacardi, I’ll be leading all Consumer & Customer Marketing teams in India across a vibrant portfolio that includes Bacardi, Patrón, Dewar’s, Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, and more. These are brands with rich heritage and bold futures, brands that have shaped culture.”

Reflecting on her journey, she added, “After an incredible few years in consumer-tech marketing with Hotstar and Coursera, driving growth, scaling performance engines, and deepening my love for data-driven marketing, I’m excited to return to my core – building iconic brands that shape culture.”

Narayanan also highlighted the significance of her appointment, stating, “I’m proud to join an organization that values diversity in senior leadership, especially in an industry that has historically been traditional".

"It’s meaningful to step into this role not as a woman in alco-bev, but as a leader in a space that’s evolving in bold and important ways".

Narayanan started working at Hind Fab and then worked at Mind Trainers, Siemens, Procter & Gamble, and GSK. As Vice President of Marketing at Hotstar, she was instrumental in growing the platform to over 300 million users in India.

She oversaw various teams in brand marketing, performance marketing, social media, media planning, insights, and content marketing, managing significant budgets and flagship campaigns, such as those for the IPL.

She was also responsible for spearheading the prominent unveiling of Disney+ in Southeast Asia, setting up the marketing department and team in Singapore, all the while retaining her duties for India. 

Moreover, Bacardi, famous for its top-selling rum called Bacardi, as well as Grey Goose vodka and Bombay Sapphire gin and other brands, has increased its financial commitment in India due to a trend towards higher-end alcoholic drinks.

Vinay Golikeri, the managing director of Bacardi India and neighboring countries, has recognized India as one of Bacardi's top five markets for growth.

In the first six months of 2025, Bacardi plans to focus on promoting and growing its recent products, such as the Indian-made whiskey Legacy, Irish whiskey Teeling, tequila Patron El Cielo, and vodka Grey Goose Altius.

During the latter part of the year, Bacardi, the world's biggest privately owned spirits company, may prioritize introducing new brands and variations into the market.
