Kolkata Releasing its 5G network to all 23 districts of West Bengal, leading telecom service provider Bharti Airtel announced that it will now offer the high-speed technology to all 1.6 million of its clients. With the achievement of 5G coverage in every district and union territory in the nation within a year of the service's launch, Airtel has reached a noteworthy milestone.

With 1.6 million of its customers in Kolkata and West Bengal already on 5G, Airtel claims to have roughly 22.5 million overall customers in these areas. According to officials, the implementation of 5G networks is accelerating. "Our mission is to connect people's lives throughout West Bengal," stated Ayan Sarkar, CEO of Airtel (West Bengal). "We were the first telecom operator to deploy high-speed 5G technology in West Bengal."

The world-famous Eden estates cricket stadium in the city, the serene tea estates of Darjeeling, the colonial town of Chandannagar, and the terracotta temple village of Bishnupur are all connected by the telecom major's vast network.

The company claimed that through a number of use cases, including the establishment of India's first private 5G network at Bosch's Bengaluru facility and the transformation of Mahindra & Mahindra's Chakan manufacturing unit into the nation's first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing facility, it has successfully demonstrated the transformative power of 5G. Airtel said that it had introduced Airtel Xstream Air Fibre, the country's first 5G Plus-powered wireless home Wi-Fi service, to customers in Delhi and Mumbai.
