BharatPe Names Rohan Khara as New Cheif Product Officer

BharatPeBharatPe, a prominent player in the fintech industry, has revealed the selection of Rohan Khara as the newly appointed Chief Product Officer (CPO). In this role, Khara will spearhead product development and innovation, overseeing the design of products for both merchants and consumers, as well as leading the user research teams across the entire BharatPe Group of companies. In a statement, Khara expressed his commitment to not only creating innovative products that offer significant value to end-users, namely merchants and consumers, but also ensuring a judicious balance between innovation and fiscal responsibility.

We are committed to introducing novel products that meet the specific needs of our target audiences, contributing to business growth and enhancing overall performance, he remarked. Before joining BharatPe, Khara served as the Managing Director (MD) at FairMoney India. With an extensive 17-year career, Khara brings a wealth of experience in product management, design, and innovation. Over the past eight years, he has been instrumental in building and scaling financial services products within fintech startups across three emerging markets, namely India, Indonesia and Nigeria. Throughout his professional journey, Khara has held key product roles in various startups, including MobiKwik and Quikr.

Nalin Negi, CFO and interim CEO at BharatPe, expressed confidence in Khara's wealth of experience, emphasizing that it will play a crucial role in driving BharatPe's product innovation agenda and propelling growth to new heights. Negi highlighted the ongoing mission to empower millions of merchants and customers. Before becoming the MD for FairMoney's India business, Khara previously held the position of Chief Product Officer for FairMoney in both Nigeria and India. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
