Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and chairman of Ola, has introduced 'Krutrim AI,' an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot designed to compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. The chatbot is currently in its public beta phase, with Aggarwal announcing the rollout on Twitter.

Aggarwal expressed that the launch of Krutrim AI is just the beginning, describing it as their initial product generation. He emphasized that there are many more developments planned, and the chatbot's performance will significantly improve as they continue to build on its foundation. Users are encouraged to provide feedback on their experience. The chatbot is designed to assist users in over 10 Indian languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, and Hinglish.

According to Aggarwal, Krutrim signifies the commencement of a new era in AI computing for India. The aim is to innovate globally and set new standards for the future. The launch follows Krutrim's achievement of becoming India's fastest unicorn and the country's first AI unicorn after successfully securing $50 million in equity funding during its initial round. Matrix Partners India and other investors led the funding, valuing Krutrim at $1 billion.

Bhavish Aggarwal, originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, born into a Punjabi Hindu family, earned his bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2008. His professional journey began with Microsoft Research India, where he started as a research intern and later returned as an assistant researcher.

To engage with the chatbot, users can visit the Krutrim website at 'chat.olakrutrim.com,' login using the OTP received on their mobile number, choose their preferred language, and enter desired commands. Once logged in, the AI chatbot will generate responses based on the provided commands.
