BT Group Re-Appoints Joris Van Oersto to Lead Global Services in Europe

BT Group, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world has appointed Joris van Oers with an objective to lead a key industrial vertical in its Global Services division. Joris will be responsible for leading a global vertical team that focuses on customers in the resources, manufacturing and logistics sectors. Along with that, he will be taking care of BT’s overall operations in Europe.

Joris will be reporting to Bas Burger along with Bernadette Wightman, MD, banking & financial services and the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region; and Jennifer Artley, MD, for technology, life sciences & business services and the Americas. The team will be supported by a commercial unit led by Chet Patel, who heads the transformation for Global services and the main objective of the team is to boost the sales across the Globe.

Prior to BT, Joris spent three years as executive vice president of the business division at KPN, a Dutch telecommunications company. Before his time at KPN, he held the CEO position at BT in the Benelux region. In 2019, Joris was appointed as the CEO for De Telefoongids Holding for three years, where he spearheaded a major transformation programme. Despite his busy activities in global telecoms, Joris also manages to find time for his interests such as golf, skiing, tennis and he loves spending time with his family.
