Budget 2026 Live: India’s GST Collections Jump To Rs 1,93,384

In January, India's GST collections reached Rs 1,93,384 crore, reflecting a 6.2 percent rise compared to the previous year, fueled by robust domestic demand and significant import activity.
Gross GST inflows for the year so far reached Rs 18,43,423 crore, an increase of 8.3 percent, while net GST revenue for January rose to Rs 1,70,719 crore.
Refund trends varied, as overall refunds decreased by 3.1 percent due to a decline in domestic refunds while export refunds edged up slightly.
Domestic GST revenue increased by 4.8 percent to Rs 1,41,132 crore, whereas import GST rose by 10.1 percent to Rs 52,253 crore. The compensation cess declined significantly to Rs 5,768 crore, marking a 55.6 percent decrease, highlighting the current reduction of the transitional levy.
Post-settlement flows varied by state, as industrial regions showed solid increases while smaller areas experienced declines.
