Centre to Launch 'BHASKAR' Digital Platform to Boost Startup Ecosystem
The Indian government has announced the upcoming launch of a revolutionary digital platform aimed at enhancing the country’s startup ecosystem. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is set to unveil the ‘Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry’ (BHASKAR) initiative, as part of the Startup India programme.
BHASKAR is designed to centralize and streamline collaboration among key stakeholders in the entrepreneurial landscape, including startups, investors, mentors, service providers, and government agencies. The platform aims to align with the government’s vision of establishing India as a global leader in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Currently, India boasts over 146,000 DPIIT-recognized startups. BHASKAR aims to harness this vast potential by offering a comprehensive, one-stop digital platform that addresses the common challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors. The platform will provide centralized access to a broad range of resources, tools, and knowledge, facilitating the entrepreneurial journey from concept to execution.
One of the key features of BHASKAR is the provision of personalized BHASKAR IDs for each stakeholder. This will enhance interaction, improve searchability, and enable efficient discovery of relevant opportunities and partnerships. The primary goal of BHASKAR is to create the world’s largest digital registry for startup ecosystem stakeholders, promoting networking, collaboration, and resource access.
The platform will support the Indian startup movement by fostering a central hub for stakeholders to connect, share ideas, and drive growth. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry emphasized that BHASKAR represents a significant advancement in the government’s efforts to spur innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
