Cheil South West Asia Appoints Sungkyoon Kim as President & CEO

Cheil South West Asia (SWA) has named Sungkyoon Kim as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cheil SWA Group, signifying a strategic leadership shift as the agency enhances its emphasis on AI-driven marketing transformation.

Based at the agency’s Gurgaon headquarters, Kim will manage a team of 1,000 across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata. His mandate covers a wide range of abilities, including creative, data, technology, retail, media, and experiential — strengthening Cheil SWA’s integrated solutions framework.

Kim offers over 30 years of expertise in marketing strategy, data analysis, and understanding consumer psychology. Before this position, he was the Head of Digital Platform Business, managing Samsung.com, and directed the Data & Analytics (DnA) Center at Cheil, enhancing CRM and data functions throughout the organization.

Throughout his time in office, Kim led multiple digital transformation efforts, such as creating and implementing a real-time digital media optimization platform that merged cross-channel expenditure and performance data to enhance investment efficiency and ROI.

He also headed the creation of LLM-driven AI agents aimed at real-time analysis and automated insight creation — integrating AI further into marketing processes.

An expert in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Kim led marketing automation initiatives that integrated customer data systems and facilitated real-time, tailored cross-channel campaigns. His efforts enabled Cheil to provide scalable, data-driven solutions in a progressively performance-focused advertising environment.

Kim was instrumental in launching Cheil’s Global Data Center in India, broadening the agency’s offshore R&D capabilities and improving operational efficiencies for international projects. The action bolstered India's standing within Cheil’s international data and technology structure.
