Colgate-Palmolive India Appoints Priyan Pillay as EVP - Legal

Priyan Pillay has been named the Executive Vice President - Legal at Colgate-Palmolive India, starting on January 2, 2026. With more than 19 years of extensive experience, Priyan is highly knowledgeable in corporate and commercial laws, ethics and compliance, and enterprise risk management, especially in the FMCG industry.

Priyan is currently working as the Chief Compliance Counsel at Colgate-Palmolive Company in New York.

In this role, Pillay has offered legal advice in various jurisdictions and provided guidance on compliance issues in Africa and around the world.

Additionally, Jaikishan Shah has been appointed as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer for Colgate-Palmolive India starting from November 26, 2025. With over 14 years of experience in corporate secretarial and investor relations roles, Shah is currently holding the position of Deputy Company Secretary & Manager – Legal and Compliance Officer at the company.

Shah is an experienced professional in the field of corporate governance, effectively overseeing all corporate secretarial tasks and corporate restructurings. Before working at Colgate-Palmolive, Shah was the Deputy Company Secretary at Castrol India Limited and spent 12 years at Pfizer Limited, where he gained valuable expertise in corporate compliance, investor relations, and mergers & acquisitions.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) is getting ready for strategic growth in one of its rapidly expanding markets by bringing in more brands from its global portfolio.

 

The Managing Director and CEO, Prabha Narasimhan, verified that the company is in talks with its US-based parent company to introduce new products in India, in addition to the current ones under the Colgate and Palmolive brands.

Instead of diversifying the Palmolive brand into different categories, Colgate-Palmolive India plans to launch completely new international brands that cater to the preferences of Indian consumers.

For the past 88 years, Colgate-Palmolive India has been operating in the country and is now prioritizing digital growth. It is enhancing its reach in the e-commerce sector by offering various online-exclusive products such as the Colgate Purple and Max Fresh Sensories lines, as well as mouthwash sticks.

Even though there is a increasing emphasis on internet sales, the company is still dedicated to its conventional retail foundation.

The majority of sales still come from local kirana stores, and Colgate-Palmolive India maintains enduring partnerships with its distributor network.
