
Defence Minister to Address Tri-Services Seminar in New Delhi

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to speak at the Tri-Services seminar taking place in New Delhi, as announced by the Ministry of Defence through their official social media channels.
This follows his participation the previous day at the National Conclave hosted by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) within the Ministry of Defence at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. During this conclave, the government reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the welfare, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration of former military personnel.
The conclave spanned two days and centered around the theme 'Viksit Bharat and Ex-Servicemen Welfare.' It gathered delegates from District and State Sainik Boards, the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), and multiple central government agencies. The conversations concentrated on policies, programs, and initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for veterans and their family members.

This gathering exemplifies the 'Whole of Government Approach' philosophy and cooperative federalism principles, highlighting the significance of partnership between federal and state authorities to accomplish comprehensive development and welfare goals for former service members.
During his remarks, Rajnath Singh highlighted that the accomplishments of Ex-Servicemen serve as motivation not only for other veterans but also encourage young people to serve their country with commitment and honor.
"Ex-servicemen are a national asset, bringing decades of experience, leadership, discipline & strategic thinking to society. Their continued engagement in social & economic initiatives strengthens communities and the nation as a whole," he added

Rajnath Singh highlighted the critical role of veterans in guiding youth, preventing social disintegration, and addressing challenges such as drug abuse. "Veterans' experience, discipline, and leadership equip them to influence communities positively, and their engagement helps ensure that young people are steered toward productive and responsible paths," he said.

The Defense Secretary also stressed the wider community function of former military personnel, noting that they act as drivers of social transformation. He pointed out the role of veterans in building communities, engaging in public involvement initiatives, protecting the environment, and guiding young people. Using illustrations of community members collaborating to construct water reservoirs or religious buildings, he emphasized that veterans have the ability to unite communities and promote solidarity, social harmony, and collaborative leadership, especially in regions where governmental influence might be restricted.
