DigiLocker Integrates with UMANG for Easy Government Service Access
The National e-Governance Division said that the Centre has announced an integration of the UMANG app with DigiLocker. This is an important step that will allow access to several other services through a single platform.
DigiLocker, known for streamlining the storage and access of personal as well as official documents, will now allow its users to access government services as provided by the UMANG app directly from the interface of DigiLocker. The integration will start with Android devices, while the iOS devices will be included soon.
Users can seek these services only by updating their DigiLocker app on the devices. The users can easily manage a plethora of government services such as education, health, employment, and financial inclusion by tapping on the UMANG icon of DigiLocker and installing and following the instructions provided to install the UMANG app from there.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology further adds that this integration supports the commitment by DigiLocker to enhance the access to and ease of living for their citizens. DigiLocker is providing legal and authentic digital documents, as prescribed under Rule 9A of the IT Rules, 2016, equally as good as the physical copies of such documents.
The partnership has expanded the range of services available through DigiLocker, equipping users to better handle their basic documents and governmental services on the move.
