U.S. President Donald Trump, along with leaders from the technology and energy industries, will participate in an artificial intelligence and energy summit in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on July 15, according to reports.

McCormick’s first Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit will take place at Carnegie Mellon University, his office announced.

Axios reported that among the tech executives on the guest list are OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.

Also included on the list are Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods, Shell CEO Wael Sawan, and Chevron CEO Mike Wirth, as reported by Axios.

David Sacks, the White House AI czar who is also expected to be present at the summit, voiced concerns earlier this week that overly strict regulations on U.S. AI could hinder growth and allow China to take the lead in this crucial market.

These remarks suggest that the Republican president may focus on promoting international markets for U.S. AI technology and models.

Conversely, former Democratic President Joe Biden has prioritized policies aimed at mitigating the risks that U.S. chips could be redirected to China for use in enhancing its military capabilities.
