The sale deed and the business transfer agreement were executed on 28 October 2026, signifying the conclusion of the transaction. Suguna Hospital, established in 2006, now has 110 beds and can potentially increase its capacity to 150 beds.
The purchase is consistent with Fortis Healthcare’s cluster-oriented growth strategy, improving its network in Bengaluru and allowing it to provide quality healthcare services to patients in the North West region of the city.
Suguna Hospital declared an operational revenue of INR 49.79 crore for the fiscal year concluding on 31 March 2026. The purchase does not entail any transactions with related parties, and the payment for the deal was made in cash. The purchase of Suguna Hospital is anticipated to enhance Fortis Healthcare’s footprint in Bengaluru, enabling it to meet the increasing need for healthcare services in the area.

Experts consider this purchase a tactical step by Fortis Healthcare to bolster its presence in the competitive healthcare sector of Bengaluru. The deal is expected to improve the company's service options and operational strengths in the area, possibly resulting in a larger market share and revenue increase.
With the growth of the healthcare sector in India, acquisitions of this nature are viewed as crucial for firms seeking to strengthen their standing and realize long-term growth.
The acquisition comes after Fortis acquired People Tree Hospital in Yeshwanthpur in January 2026. Along with its current facility in Rajajinagar and People Tree Hospital, the acquisition provides Fortis with a potential capacity of approximately 500 beds in the north-west Bengaluru area. According to reports, Fortis's Managing Director and CEO Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi mentioned that this acquisition would raise the operational bed capacity in Bengaluru to nearly 1,000, encompassing its operations and management (O&M) facilities.
"This purchase enhances our footprint in the city, particularly in the north-west Bengaluru corridor, which we consider to be a neglected area." "With Suguna Hospital in our portfolio, we currently possess approximately 1,000 active beds in the city, which includes our operations and management (O&M) facilities," stated Dr. Raghuvanshi
