
Google Appoints Gaurav Bhaskar as Head of Communications for APAC

Google has declared the selection of Gaurav Bhaskar to lead its Communications & Public Affairs division for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) area.
Bhaskar, a Google employee for more than 16 years, recently expressed his enthusiasm for embracing the broader role that encompasses India, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
In a statement revealing the change, he mentioned, "It's been an amazing journey of 16 years so far, and this upcoming step seems like the most thrilling one yet." Being at the forefront of communications for India, Southeast Asia, and South Asia has been a remarkable honor. I’m extremely proud of our achievements and thankful for the insights in leadership and innovation I've gained in these vibrant markets.
The new position arises as the APAC region swiftly embraces artificial intelligence, and Bhaskar highlighted the need to develop communication strategies that promote growth and foster inclusive opportunities.

Bhaskar has occupied various high-level roles at Google throughout the years, notably serving as Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for India, Southeast Asia, and South Asia since 2022, and has been involved with Google India in different communications positions since 2009.

Before his time at Google, he directed corporate communications at Rediff.com and was Deputy General Manager at Vaishnavi Corporate Communication Pvt. Ltd, managing clients in the IT and telecom industries.
