
Vodafone Idea Names Tejas Mehta as New CFO

Vodafone Idea has declared the selection of Tejas Mehta as its new chief financial officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel (KMP), starting 6 October 2025.
He follows Murthy GVAS, whose term as CFO concluded at the end of business hours on 5 October 2025.
The board of directors of the company approved the decision following the suggestions of the audit committee and the nomination and remuneration committee.
Tejas Mehta, 49 years old, comes to Vodafone Idea from Mondelez India, where he held the position of chief financial officer. Mehta, a Chartered Accountant from the 1997 cohort, possesses over 25 years of significant experience in both Indian and global markets, having managed substantial P&Ls during periods of expansion, transformation, and integration.

He started his career at Marico Industries before moving to Mondelez India in 2002 as a Treasury Manager. In the following twenty years, he took on multiple senior leadership positions in different regions, serving as Group Finance Controller in London, CFO for Thailand and Turkey, and Supply Chain Finance Lead for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

Throughout his career, Mehta has been instrumental in fostering business expansion despite difficult macroeconomic circumstances characterized by sector volatility and inflationary challenges. He has additionally guided the creation of regional Centres of Excellence, enhanced business procedures, and advocated for global initiatives in functional excellence and talent growth.
India’s third-largest telecom provider, Vodafone Idea is supported by the Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group. The firm possesses 5G spectrum in 17 areas and mmWave spectrum in 16 areas, providing services through 2G, 4G, and developing 5G networks.

On a consolidated basis, Vodafone Idea's net loss was Rs 6,608.1 crore in Q1 FY26, up from Rs 6,432.1 crore in Q1 FY25.
Revenue from operations rose 4.9 percent YoY to Rs 11,022.5 crore from Rs 10,508.3 crore in Q1 FY25.
