
Goyal, Airbus Chairman Discuss Firm's Plans on Investment, More

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal engaged in talks with Airbus Chairman Rene Obermann regarding potential opportunities within India's aviation industry and possibilities for strengthening partnerships with the international aerospace corporation.
Through a social media statement, the Minister expressed, "We welcomed the Airbus Board to India, headed by Chairman Rene Obermann. Our conversation focused on the remarkable opportunities that Bharat presents and the robust, expanding alliance between Airbus and India's aviation industry."
Goyal went on to mention that he supported Airbus in their initiatives to strengthen collaboration and expand their investments within India.

He noted that this demonstrates the robustness and promise of India's aerospace industry, which consistently draws worldwide attention.
These talks represent progress toward further consolidating India's aviation sector and enhancing its status as a center for aerospace development and production.
The previous year saw Air India order an additional 100 Airbus planes, consisting of 10 wide-body A350s and 90 narrow-body A320 Family jets, including the A321neo.
During 2023, IndiGo's board approved an order for 500 A320 family aircraft from Airbus, representing the company's largest purchase to date.

The acquisition contract was executed on June 19 during the Paris Air Show 2023, with IndiGo Board Chairman V Sumantran, IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, and Airbus Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International Christian Scherer in attendance.
These aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2030 through 2035. This 500-unit order represented not only IndiGo's biggest purchase but also marked the largest individual aircraft acquisition by any carrier from Airbus.
Airbus stands as a prominent European aerospace company specializing in the design, production, and supply of commercial planes, helicopters, military jets, satellites, and space technology.
The company holds the position as the globe's top producer of passenger jets, creating well-known aircraft series such as the A320 range, A330, A350, and the massive A380, recognized as the planet's biggest commercial airliner.
Airbus primarily rivals Boeing, the US-based corporation, in the worldwide aviation industry.
Within India, Airbus has established partnerships with airline companies, supplying aircraft while engaging in joint ventures focused on production, upkeep, and educational programs to assist the expanding aviation industry.

Most recently, Air India and Airbus have established a cutting-edge pilot training facility at the Air India Aviation Training Academy located in Gurugram, Haryana. This modern installation is designed to prepare over 5,000 new aviators during the upcoming ten years to accommodate the rapid expansion of commercial flight operations throughout the nation.
