
GST Relief to Increase Savings, Says Home Minister Amit Shah

According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, modifications to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system will be implemented nationwide starting today, providing financial benefits to ordinary citizens.
Shah also mentioned that GST cuts in healthcare and medical services, along with other sectors, will enhance the financial savings of the population.
"Modi government's gift of Next Gen GST reform to all the mothers and sisters of the country on the auspicious occasion of Navratri! Modi's promise to the countrymen regarding GST reform has been implemented across the entire country starting today. In this GST, historic reductions have been made in taxes on more than 390 goods," the Union Home Minister posted on X.
"In areas such as food and household items, home building and materials, automobiles, agriculture, services, toys, sports and handicrafts, education, medical and health, insurance, etc., unprecedented relief in GST will bring joy to the lives of the countrymen and also increase their savings," Shah said.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended Navratri greetings to the country and stated that the principle of "Swadeshi" gained fresh momentum during this sacred festival, encouraging people to unite in building a prosperous and self-sufficient India.
Describing this Navratri as "particularly significant," the Prime Minister noted that the festival aligns with the GST Savings Festival, which will further strengthen efforts to promote domestically-made goods.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote, "This time, this auspicious occasion of Navratri is very special. Along with the GST Savings Festival, the mantra of Swadeshi is going to receive a new energy during this period. Let us come together in collective efforts for the fulfilment of the resolve for a developed and self-reliant India."

Shardiya Navratri represents a colorful and holy Hindu celebration lasting nine nights, honoring the divine feminine power represented by Goddess Durga. Taking place during the lunar month of Ashwin, this celebration features passionate devotion, intricate ceremonies, and artistic displays.
Throughout Navratri's nine days, worshippers practice fasting, chant religious hymns, and take part in customary dances such as Garba and Dandiya, fostering a festive environment. These Navratri days carry profound meaning for Hindus and are observed with magnificent splendor.

The festival will end on October 2nd with the celebration of Vijayadashami or Dussehra.
