Havells Appoints Manjit Singh Sethi as President-Cables

Havells India Limited recently disclosed the appointment of Manjit Singh Sethi as the President of the Cables division, with the new role set to commence on December 15, 2025, according to reports.

Sethi's extensive background in the electrical industry spans more than 35 years, during which he has occupied key leadership positions at prominent companies such as ABB India (now known as Hitachi Energy) and KEC International.

Throughout his career, he has spearheaded major operations in the transformer and cable sectors, achieved substantial financial gains, and successfully implemented strategies for expanding renewable energy EPC projects.

Sethi, an electrical engineer graduate from Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh, obtained a Master of Technology degree in Management Studies from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. 

The appointment coincides with ongoing growth in Havells' cables business. In the second quarter of FY26, the segment saw a significant 12 percent year-on-year increase, resulting in revenues climbing from Rs 1,805 crore to Rs 2,028 crore.

 

Earlier this month, Kundan Solar (Pali), a division of Kundan Green Energy based in New Delhi, has increased its presence in renewable energy by granting a 26 percent share to Havells India for the development of a 21.43/15 MW solar project in Rajasthan.

The company announced that it plans to invest a total of Rs.72.5 crore in the project development. This investment will be made in stages based on important development milestones.

The project is projected to be finished by May 31, 2026. The project is being carried out by a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) known as Kundan Solar (Pali) Pvt. Ltd., with support from its parent company, Kundan Green Energy. The SPV will be responsible for the design, construction, installation, and ongoing operation of the 21.43 /15 MW solar plant.

Kundan Green Energy, a company that focuses on renewable energy, currently operates over 125 MW of renewable energy projects.

The company has reached various states such as Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand with its projects.

The commercial and industrial sector has become a significant factor in the increased adoption of solar power in recent years, with the government anticipating the addition of 80 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity in this segment. Rajasthan has taken steps to provide clear information on transmission availability to help companies better plan their own renewable energy projects, addressing issues faced by many firms in the past.
