CEO Insights Team

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts are recognized for their excellent performance in India by receiving top honours in the ‘Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2017’, 6th edition. As a result of the annual online voting process conducted by 'Travel + Leisure India’, World of Hyatt emerged as the ‘Best Hotel Loyalty Programme’ and Hyatt Hotels Group has won an award in the ‘Best Hotel Group – International’ category. Hyatt has also won several accolades in the previous editions of the 'Travel Leisure India's Best Awards’, on the basis of readers' votes amassed by the popular magazine.

Hyatt’s awards for the ‘Best Hotel Group- International’ and ‘Best Hotel Loyalty Programme’ were received by Mr. Kurt Straub, Vice President, Operations and Ms. Archana Dutta, Director of Loyalty Marketing, Hyatt India Consultancy Private Limited, respectively.

Commenting on the achievement, Kurt Straub, Vice President, Operations (India), Hyatt Hotels and Resorts India said, “We are proud of the fact that Hyatt has a long and rich heritage in India. We have added 26 new hotels to our portfolio, since we opened Hyatt Regency Delhi in 1983, as India has become an increasingly important region for us. As we continue with strategic and mindful growth to increase our footprint and brand representation in the country, we sincerely appreciate the recognition and encouragement that this award has given to our teams in India.”

“It is especially meaningful as the vote of confidence comes from Travel + Leisure’s well-travelled readers across the country. It has been our endeavor to be the
most preferred hospitality brand in the country, and therefore, it is a great honour to receive this recognition for our recently re-launched World of Hyatt loyalty programme by one of the most widely-read travel magazine brands in the world. We are also delighted that the magazine’s readers have voted Hyatt as the Best International Hotel Chain in India.”

In order to highlight the very best in the tourism industry, Travel + Leisure asked its readers - some of India's most frequent and experienced travellers - to cast their votes for the hotels, country, destinations and airports. The magazine’s discerning readers voted vigorously in the polls that were conducted through the website over a period of two months since September, which culminated in the announcement and a glittering Awards Ceremony in Delhi on 17th November. The guest of honour for the evening, Press Department and Official spokesman of the German Embassy, Mr. Hans Christian Winkler, Mr. Inaki Vitorika, Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Spain, and Sujit Banerjee, Secretary General, World Travel and Tourism Council were some of the esteemed guests who graced the occasion. The ceremony was also attended by many known names in the travel and lifestyle industries such as celebrity beautician Shenaz Hussain, fashion designer RaghavendraRathore, and Kalyani Chawla, Founder, Lulu & Sky.

Hyatt designed and launched ‘World of Hyatt’ in March 2017, as a platform to build and engage a community of loyalists. This loyalty program emphasizes attainable rewards and more meaningful benefits at every level, as well as more ways to engage with each other. World Of Hyatt is all about exceptional service and unforgettable experiences by deeply engaging with our guests and building a world of understanding with empathy and care

Hyatt’s presence in India is marked by Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt, Hyatt Place and Andaz. Each of the six brands provide a distinct experience for different traveler mindsets across 17 key cities in the country. As it continues to grow in India and around the world, Hyatt is also focused on implementing its purpose – “caring for people so that they can be their best”.
