Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed global investors to engage in India's expanding energy sector, presenting a $ 500 billion investment opportunity, and emphasized that the nation will soon emerge as the largest refining hub globally.

While speaking at the India Energy Week 2026, he encouraged investors to put their money into areas such as refining, LNG value chain infrastructure, city gas distribution, and oil & gas exploration.

The Prime Minister stated, "The energy sector is central to our ambitions." It provides investment prospects totaling $ 500 billion. Hence, my request is: Create in India, innovate in India, expand with India, invest in India.

He indicated that India ranks among the top five exporters in the energy field.

"In discussing the energy sector, significant investment prospects exist throughout the energy value chain." Consider the exploration sector, for instance: India has significantly liberalized it, he mentioned.

He pointed out that you are also informed about our deep-sea exploration initiative, the 'Samudra Manthan' project.

"We aim to raise investments in our oil and gas industry to $ 100 billion by the close of this decade." We aim to broaden the range of exploration to encompass one million square kilometres. "According to this vision, over 170 blocks have been awarded here already," he remarked.

"Any recommendations provided during the previous edition of IEW have led us to modify our rules." "Investing in the exploration sector will definitely enhance your company's profitability," he stated.
